ABSTRACT\nObjective: The main purpose of this study was to examine the effect of combined endurance and strength training on C-reactive protein and insulin-resistance index among obese men.\nMethods: The present research method was a semi-experimental study. 40 obese men (age of 20.76±1.67 years old and body mass index of 30.95±1.39 kg/m2) were randomly assigned to experimental (20 people) and control (20 people) groups. The experimental group performed combined endurance and strength training (aerobic training: 65 to 75% of maximal heart rate for 20 min and strength training: 2 sets with 75% of 1 repetition maximum for 8 weeks) while the control group did not do any physical activity.\nAt the beginning end of the study, blood samples were taken from the experimental and control groups to measure C-reactive protein (CPR) and insulin-resistance indicator.\nResults: At the end of the 8 week, a significant decrease was observed in serum C-reactive protein (1.61±0.23 versus 1.42±0.28 mg/l, P<0.05) and insulin-resistance indicator (1.53±0.14 versus 1.39±0.31, P<0.05).\nConclusion: combined endurance and strength training program can have a positive effect on the concentration of insulin-resistance and C-reactive protein of serum. Therefore, it is recommended that doing combined endurance and strength training can be a suitable method for developing glucose transport into muscle cells; also, regulating the secretion of C-reactive protein can be most probably a preventive method for postponing cardiovascular diseases and type-2 diabetes in obese men

Saffron (Crocus sativus) has cyanic color flowers with major colorant of anthocyanin. Attractive color and functional properties of anthocyanins make them a good substitute for synthetic pigments in the food industry. These natural soluble water colorants are rather unstable and influenced by final processing treatment. The drying process is critical to the stability of saffron petals anthocyanins. Four different dehydration methods were evaluated: traditional method (at room temperature and under the sun); dehydration with electrical oven at different temperatures; and dehydration with microwave at different powers. The results showed that the highest amount of anthocyanin was obtained when saffron petals treated by traditional methods (at room temperature and under the sun). According to the results, the stability of saffron petals anthocyanins gradually accessed with increase of the heating temperature and decrement of heating time until 100 °C. However, heated at 120 and 140 °C, the anthocyanins could break down, and their residual amounts declined within 20 min and 10 min, respectively. The results suggested that saffron petals anthocyanins tended to degrade at high temperatures (>100 °C). Between these methods, drying at room temperature and drying with microwave at 900 W obtained the highest and the lowest results respectively.

Let $A$ be a Banach algebra and $I$ be a non-zero closed two sided ideal of $A$‎. ‎We say that the Banach algebra $A$ is \\emph{I-quotient amenable} if the quotient Banach algebra $A/I$ is amenable‎. ‎In this paper we study this notion and some of its hereditary properties and give a sufficient conditions for $I$-quotient amenability‎. ‎Also we provide a characterization of $I$-quotient amenability whenever $I$ has a bounded approximate identity‎. Finally, we prove that ‎this ‎notion ‎may ‎be ‎coincide ‎with ‎amenability, ‎and ‎apply ‎this ‎to ‎give a‎ ‎new ‎characterization ‎for ‎amenability ‎of ‎‎$‎‎C^{*}$-algebras.‎

Rivers in India are not merely water sources, but are repository of ancient history, cultural memory and even today they are worshipped, may be in theoretical sense. Today most of the Indian rivers are dying due to excessive pressure mounted on them as a result of heavy industrialization and their ill fate to get treated as sewerage channel even in the domestic households. It can be said that rivers banks gave rise to great civilizations and cities, but today the rivers banks are dying only because of excessive urbanization & mismanagement. A river is an ecosystem and an economy in itself; a society cannot survive the death of a river.\nThe methodology involved use of satellite imageries IKONOS, IRS-LISS-III for estimation of households in different categories like dense slum, slum, LIG (Lower Income Group) residential, MIG (Middle Income Group) residential, HIG (Higher Income Group) residential & Commercial area and identifying the existing land use / land cover pattern respectively. To estimate the population data in the different households, some assumptions were formulated. Apart from this, rate of water supply to the respective households depending on the category and availability of sewer network were also taken into consideration. Finally results were derived for generation of wastewater from different areas and categories and their estimated contribution to urban river was crosschecked in the field.\nThe above case study will be beneficial in better planning for sewer network designing based on the area wise wastewater generation. Also, it will help the respective civic authorities to establish smaller wastewater treatment plants at suitable locations instead of having a single treatment plant. The study also helps to understand the possible scenario of river water quality in the absence of certain category. The above case study also emphasizes that Indian cities needs to revive and sustain rivers.

This paper investigates the experimental results on the effect of nano silica fume on compressive strength development of concretes containing high volume fly ash (HVFA). The effect of various silica fumes contents such as 2, 4 & 6% (wt. %) as partial replacement of cement on the compressive strength of cements are evaluated in the first part. The nano silica fume content which exhibited the highest compressive strength above is used in high volume fly ash concretes containing 30% and 50% class F fly ash. The results show that among three different silica fumes contents, the addition of 2% increased the compressive strength of concretes. The addition of 2% silica fume also increases the early age and 28 days compressive strengths of HVFA concretes

This study aimed to characterize the relative genetic resistance/susceptibility of Tunisian sheep breeds to scrapie through establishing a portrait of the allele frequency and genotype for the codons 136, 154 and 171 of the PrP gene in two main Tunisian sheep breeds, namely Barbarine and Western thin tail. The results revealed the predominance of the ARQ/ARQ (44.44%) and ARR/ARQ (37.5%) genotypes. No ARR/ARR genotype, which is known to be the most resistant to scrapie, was observed. The data reported in this work may contribute to the establishment of informed recommendations particularly for Tunisian sheep producers.

An experimental study aimed to investigate the effect of saline stress on rice (Oryza saliva L.) germination and early seedling characteristics, and genotypic differences in response to saline stress was conducted under lab conditions at College of Food and Agricultural Sciences, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. Germination Percentage (%), Germination Rate, Emergence Energy (%), Germination Speed (%), Seedling Height (cm), Vigor Index, Seedling Fresh and Dry Weights (mg) were recorded. Treatments consist of three different saline stress levels: 0 mM (Control), 100 mM and 200 mM, and eight rice genotypes; Basmati 385 and Basmati 2000 (Pakistani), Sakha 101, Sakha 102, Sakha 103, Sakha 104, Sakha 105 and Sakha 106 (Egyptian). It was conceived from results that saline stress significantly affected all the germination parameters in reverse order (0mM < 100 mM < 200 mM). Genotypic differences among rice cultivars germinating under saline stress were also recorded significant. Most valuable outcome of the study: interaction between various levels of saline stress and rice genotypes were highly significant. Sakha 101, Sakha 103, Sakha 106 and Basmati 385 have performed better even under 200 mM NaCl; they have a saline stress tolerance potential and could be used in future breeding programs.

Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture are receiving an increased amount of attention in both academic research and practice. The different fields of study have focused on the analysis of the characteristics of potential entrepreneurs and the firm-creation process.\nIn this paper, we develop and test an economic-psychological model of factors that influence individuals’ intentions to go into business. \nWe introduce a new measure of entrepreneurial inclination based on the logic fuzzy techniques. From a practical point of view, this theory offers a natural approach to the resolution of multidimensional and complex problems when the available information is sparse and/or of poor quality.\nAs an illustration, the model is estimated using a data provided by the National Tunisian Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2010 Project, based on the analysis of a sample of 799 cases.\nA simulation study of the model suggests that entrepreneurial intention is related to a composite of some demographic, competencies, networks and perception factors. This is an important area of concern in entrepreneurship inclination which improves our knowledge about the degree to which the individual holds a positive or negative personal valuation about being an entrepreneur. The modeling insights may also be valuable as input to the design of entrepreneurship curricula.

Modern distributed storage systems apply redundancy coding techniques to stored data. One form of redundancy is based on regenerating codes, which can minimize the repair bandwidth, i.e., the amount of data transferred when repairing a failed storage node. Existing regenerating codes mainly require surviving storage nodes encode data during repair. In this paper, we study functional minimum storage regenerating (FMSR) codes, which enable uncoded repair without the encoding requirement in surviving nodes, while preserving the minimum repair bandwidth guarantees and also minimizing disk reads. Under double-fault tolerance settings, we formally prove the existence of FMSR codes, and provide a deterministic FMSR code construction that can significantly speed up the repair process. We further implement and evaluate our deterministic FMSR codes to show the benefits.

In this paper, a four-quadrant voltage and current-mode multiplier based on a new squaring cell is proposed. The multiplier consists of a simple core and the power consumption is low while it benefits from high bandwidth. The further advantage of the circuit is switching of the circuit for operating in voltage mode and current mode. The HSPICE simulation results confirm that this multiplier in its both mode has many advantages than previously reported works. The technology which is used in both multiplier circuits is 0.25 µm. The simulation results for the current-mode circuit demonstrate power consumption of 0.212 mw which is obtained from 1.5v power supply. The total harmonic distortion is 0.55% and -3db bandwidth is equal to 231.8 MHz. Also the proposed multiplier in voltage-mode consumes 0.14 mw power in a case that voltage source is set to 1.4 V. The range of input voltage is ±30mv and −3dB bandwidth is found to be 184 MHz.

The proposed CMOS four-quadrant analog multiplier in current mode which has the low power consumption of 0.212 μw is designed in 0.25 µm technology and 1.5 V power supply. The major advantages of this multiplier include the total harmonic distortion of 0.55% and -3db bandwidth equal to 231.9MHz. The proposed multiplier can be used in modulators, IF amplifier with variable gain, adaptive filters, demodulator equalizers, frequency doubling and automatic gain controlling. The performance of the proposed multiplier is characterized using HSPICE simulator with MOSIS level 49 (BSIM3v3) parameters for 0.25 μm CMOS technology.

Healthcare applications generate huge amount of data underused for decision making needs. This is essentially due to the absence of specific design mastered by healthcare actors as well as the lack of collaboration and information exchange between healthcare institutions.\nIn this work, we propose building medical Data Warehouse (DW) using a new assistant system ASDeDaWaS (Assistant System for the Design of Data Warehouse Schema). The proposed system combines the bottom-up approach and the mixed approach. \nStarting by the design of DM schemas is suitable because the health centers are separately, they do not communicate with each other and they do not share their information and documents. This step is achieved using the mixed approach. Indeed, it begins by designing the schemas of the DM, one for each center taking into consideration the healthcare staffs’ requirements and the existing databases. Next and using the bottom-up approach, it merges the DM schemas to build medical DW schema using the schema integration technique.

This paper discuss about the fixed frequency pulse mask control based high frequency AC conversion circuit for energy efficient industrial induction heating applications. Conventionally, for induction heating load, the output power control is achieved using the pulse width modulation based converters. The conventional converters do not guarantee the zero voltage switching condition required for the minimization of the switching losses. In this paper, pulse mask control scheme for the power control of induction heating load is proposed. This power control strategy allows the inverter to operate closer to the resonant frequency, to obtain zero voltage switching condition for the reduction in the switching losses. The proposed high frequency AC power conversion circuit has lesser total harmonic distortion in the supply side. Modeling of the IH load, design of conversion circuit and principle of the control scheme and its implementation using low cost PIC controller are briefly discussed. Simulation results obtained using the Matlab environment are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the pulse mask scheme. The obtained results prove the reduction in losses, improvement in the output power and lesser harmonic distortion in the supply side by the proposed converter. The hardware results are shown to be in good agreement with the simulation results.

The economic activity in the second area is much more uniform. The study analyzed show different types of economic activity product diversifications influence the development possibilities of studied rural areas. We analyzed the influence of different factors (environmental stability, spatial -local Favorable development of rural areas, Wealth and income stability) on system stability by Eigenvector Technique. The gained results show that the integration of transition process has occurred in the fourth transfer and the environmental stability parameter has the most importance with weight of 0.491387.

Nowadays business processes modeling are more outstanding due to the simple perception, possibility defects’ awareness, improve processes and the ability of code running and transformation. On the other hand, the validation of the code is simpler and more accurate because of the Model-based testing processes with the existence of test data, including expected inputs and outputs, The primary challenge of existing methods for test data generation consist of the omission of the business process model, lack of a systematic approach for modeling business processes in the form of a state graph and optimization of test cases.\nThis Paper aims to find a method for using Model-based testing strategy and the automatic generation of test cases by using business process models. In order to achieve this purpose, the modeling of business processes with BPMN2.0 has been created and the complexity of anti-patterns is omitted. Furthermore, an algorithm for converting business process models to state graph is provided and the graph is traversed based on another algorithm and converted to the input format of the tool. The result is an automatically test cases generation. Considering “Business processes Model” as a base model, optimizing the generated test cases in terms of the number and amount of coverage and mapping of business process model in diagram format are the advantages of this method in comparison to existing methods.

The aim of the study was to investigate the quality of blended wines produced from Vitis vinifera L. Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon blanc grapes. Wines were processed according to accepted conventional methods for white and red wines. Blended wines were produced with different ranges (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) of Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon blanc wines. Produced wines were evaluated for their total phenols (mg/L); total tartaric esters (mg/L caffeic acid), total flavonols (mg/L quersetin), chemometric parameters such as D280%, D420%, D520%, D620%, dA%, CD%, T, CI%, R%, Y% and B%, CIELAB parameters, protein, total and volatile acidity. Analyses on n-dimentional scale demonstrated the relations among wines with different grape origin and different blending ratio.On the base of these differences two main groups have been obtained on diagrams of PCR and cluster analysis. The results demonstrated the importance of grape origin, percentage of blending and the possibilities of optimization of wines on the base of required parameters.

Due to the prolonged use of wind turbines they must be characterized by high reliability. This can be achieved through a rigorous design, appropriate simulation and testing and proper construction. The reliability prediction and analysis of these systems will lead to identifying the critical components, increase the operating time, minimizing failure rate and minimizing maintenance costs. To estimate the produced energy by the wind turbine, an evaluation approach based on the Monte Carlo simulation model is developed which enables us to estimate the probability of minimum and maximum parameters. In our simulation process we used triangular distributions. The analysis of simulation results has been focused on the interpretation of the relative frequency histograms and cumulative distribution curve (ogive diagram), that indicates the probability of obtaining the daily or annual energy output depending on wind speed. The case study consists on estimation of the reliability and unreliability functions and hazard rate of the helical vertical axis wind turbine designed and patented to climatic conditions for Romanian regions. Also, the variation of power produced for different wind speed, the Weibull distribution of wind probability and the power generated was determined. The analysis of experimental results indicates that this type of wind turbine at low wind speed is more efficient than other wind turbines with horizontal axis.
